In honor of my summer tan...

Yall, please watch this.

So here's a spoiler... growing up (who are we kidding, I'm still growing up), I was a little awkward, pretty insecure, and just wanted to blend in. I never tanned easily and always thought myself hopelessly pale. Pale to the point that I was afraid people would notice me because I was pasty. (gasp) Because I only braved my bathing suit a couple times each summer, I would either stay pale or burn badly. I'm talking lobster here, people. (Photo circa 2006)

Let's not jump past the fact that I'm super moley (although I wouldn't mind jumping past that because I find it a little weird) and develop new dark freckles and moles monthly. I also know my dad had to have some removed because they were cancerous, so it runs in the family.

I'm also ashamed to say that up until a few months ago, I had a tanning membership. But enough is enough. I'm basically paving the way for cancer and it ends now. I kicked the summer pants issue I had going on goodbye and embraced my legs and shorts to get a little natural glow going on. I also use Jergens Natural Glow lotion that slowly builds color. I use a face moisturizer with sunscreen and am cautious not to burn.

Please take the video to heart! I think we would all rather be fair skinned at 80 than bronze and fighting for our life at 22.

Lauren
